Cannon Falls High School Auditorium
The Cannon Falls Community Theater is proud to present the auditions for the hilarious romantic comedy by Jerry Mayer, Aspirin & Elephants!
In the middle of winter, what sounds better than a luxurious cruise through Scandinavia? Well, join Honey and Junior as they take their two daughters and their spouses on a wild journey, where they discover the beauties of northern Europe while also exploring themselves and the nuances of marriage. It is an exciting and fast paced rom-com that will leave a smile on your face, and laughter in your heart.
The show will be directed by yours truly and will run March 23 – 25.
But first, auditions!
They will be held the evening of December 12 in the Cannon Falls High School auditorium, at 7:00pm. They will run until about 8:30, but please arrive 15-20 minutes early to fill out an audition form and to look over audition scenes.
Auditions will be ran in groups of about 3-6 people at a time. I will have excerpts of scenes that I will have you read in different combinations. I will also ask a few questions just to get a sense of your personality, also in regards to availability. No experience required.
Hope to see you there! 😁
Honey (Ruth) Frank : 50s-60s. Warm and elegant. Married to Junior for forty years. Close friend to her daughters.
Junior (Steven) Frank : 60s. A guy everyone likes. Owns a men’s clothing manufacturing company. Very humble and easy going. Married to Honey for forty years.
Liz Nathan : Late 20s – mid 30s. The ‘no-nonsense’ daughter. Intelligent and bluntly honest. Very confident, but also very appealing and fun.
Arnie Nathan : 30s. A “diamond in the rough.” A struggling comedy writer constantly figuring out what to do next. Married up, but he and Liz are madly in love.
Stephanie Gale : Mid 30s. A knockout. Acts like a princess, but she’s not an airhead. Always trying to win her husband’s love, while ignoring her undiscovered potential.
Scott Gale : 40s. “Ivy league handsome, successful, and competitive.” Runs his own lingerie company in hopes of doing better than his father did. Makes Stephanie beg for his affection.
